Code of Conduct

Pioneering Role in Environmental and Energy Management by Supporting EU Activities in Reducing Energy Consumption and Energy Efficiency by Participating in an EU Benchmark System.  

A1 was the first Austrian company to sign the EU's Code of Conduct on Date Centres Energy Efficiency (CoC). To this end an Approval Board was set up in the company, to find solutions to reduce energy consumption and to increase energy efficiency in all the departments.  By continually implementing innovative services and through steady growth of the data volume the telecommunications sector is one of the key areas for energy issues. The main focus on this area is the high thermal burden on the technical rooms and the resulting high electricity needs for ventilation and cooling equipment. Within the scope of the CoC, data center operators should be encouraged to lower energy consumption without a loss of performance, by improvements in software, IT architecture and infrastructure. 

By signing the Code of Conduct on Data Centres Energy Efficiency, A1 took an important step towards energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
